The Bible clearly points out that the sin barrier that stood in the way of man and kept humanity away from God has been destroyed forever by the sacrifice of Jesus blood. The term blood of Jesus Christ is used in the Bible in the metaphorical sense. It's not referring to the physical blood of Jesus Christ you know but the Bible uses it metaphorically for instance in Leviticus chapter number 17, the Bible said that the life is in the blood. In other words, the blood represents the life. So when the Bible talks about the blood of Jesus it uses that term in the metaphorical sense to describe the expiratory death of Jesus Christ by which he received the judgment that removed sin and all of its penalty from man's pathway to God.
Paul tells us that the blood of Jesus Christ destroyed the sin barrier that separated man from God. That impossible barrier of sin and its penalty has forever been removed. This implies that the enmity that was between God and man has been forever removed. That enmity that stood in the way of man; that kept man away from God and caused the enmity between God and man. Paul tells us, that enmity has forever been removed and this is good news.
We're going to read Ephesians chapter number two, verse 13 and 14. Paul says, but now in Christ Jesus, you who formerly were afar off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Can you hear that? You've been brought near by the blood of Christ, not by your fasting, not by your penance.
These do not bring you near to God. Paul tells us that we have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Now, come to verse 14. For he himself is our peace. And broke down the barrier of the dividing wall. Through the blood of Jesus Christ. Paul tells us that the enmity between God and man has been removed. And that enmity has been replaced with peace. God replaced that enmity with the peace of Jesus Christ. Let's read verse 14 again.
For he himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall. He said, Jesus Christ, through the shedding of his blood, broke down the dividing wall of barrier, that brick wall of sin stood as a barrier between man and God. The Bible said, the blood of Jesus broke it down.
Now the barrier, (the dividing wall that separated the Jews and the Gentiles; which is the law of Moses with all of it's commandments and ordinances) have been broken down by the blood of Jesus.
Jesus broke it down and he took it out of the way. He removed it, thereby bringing the Jews and the Gentiles, together before God, making peace between both groups, removing every racial prejudice, so to speak.
So today there is nothing separating the Jews from the Gentiles. Everybody has been brought together and presented before God as one collective humanity. But that's not the only way to understand that verse. That verse also makes it very clear, that the dividing wall of sin that separated humanity from God, that brought enmity between God and man. Paul is telling us here also that that brick wall has been destroyed. So sin has been destroyed and taken out of the way, praise the Lord Jesus!
The Bible refers to this as the doctrine of Reconciliation. The sacrificial blood of Jesus Christ broke down all barriers.
Colossians chapter number 1 verse 26, and through him to reconcile all things to himself having made peace through the blood of his cross.... Jesus made peace between humanity and God. He took away the enmity that stood in the way of man, that kept man away from God, He has destroyed it and he has taken it out of the way forever. Forever. There is no more enmity between you and God. There is no more barrier between you and God. Praise the Lord Jesus! Does this mean people are no longer committing sinful acts? Is that what this means? Of course not.
People are still committing terrible sins but because of the sacrifice of Jesus' blood, God is no longer counting people's sins nor holding their sins against them anymore. God can no longer hold your sins against you. God can no longer hold anybody's sins against them because of the sacrifice of Jesus' blood. Praise the Lord Jesus!
Nobody's an enemy of God today, because of their natural human imperfection, or because of their natural human shortcomings.
This is the truth. That's why He's our Lord and Savior. Because nobody else can do this for you. Only Jesus could. Hallelujah.
The Bible tells us that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God is not waiting for you to repent of your sin before he will restore anything. All of that is religious stupidity. He died for you, while we were yet sinners, he died for us. He didn't wait for us to repent first. So how would he now wait for us today to repent before he shows us his favor?
Praise God for his blessings. Hallelujah! So you see, the only thing that keeps a person separated from God today, is their continual rejection of Jesus Christ, their sin substitute whom God gave in exchange for sin. That's the only thing that can keep a person away from God.
God is not angry with you for anything. Your father will never be angry with you for anything. He loves you unconditionally. God's love for you does not depend on anything you do right. Nor does he get angry with you or hate you for doing anything that is not right. Praise the Lord Jesus! He loves you unconditionally. For while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So if he could die for us when we were yet sinners, if he could die for us of his own free counsel, how will he not freely give us all things today! That's what Paul tells us in Romans chapter number 8 verse 32.
If he gave us his son freely, if he chose to die for us, to shed his blood, to put an end to sin, to remove the barrier and the enmity, you know, that stood in the way of man, that kept man away from God, if he did all of that for us freely, how will he not also freely give us all things? Praise God! And I believe in all that Jesus Christ has done.
Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, all that God wants of you now is to believe that you are freely accepted by him. Because of all that Jesus Christ has accomplished for you, you are freely accepted by God. Praise the Lord Jesus! He loves you unconditionally.
Your father loves you unconditionally. Your father paid the ultimate price for your freedom. Your father through Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price to remove the sin barrier, to remove the penalty for sin. Hallelujah! He removed all of this and instead he replaced it with peace, with the peace of God. So everybody is at peace with God now. And like I said, the only people that perish today are those who continually reject this peace that God has offered humanity. This salvation that God has offered humanity, which is Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord Jesus!
